KPM Signature Black Beauty Sample

This snare is a Frankenstein of parts and friendship. I’ve had other snares in the past but none have come close to this one. Different colored die cast hoops, floating hardware, and this modern throw because Ross and Kyle hit this thing so hard the old Ludwig throw couldn’t handle it. If you’ve made a record with me I probably replaced yours with this one, so it belongs to all of us.

I made a sample, that I use all the time, during the making of Point of View’s “Vultures” I had just started experimenting in a new drum spot at Nu-Tone because my mate Markus visited and started walking around the room hitting a floor tom until he found the deepest tonal pocket. I think we were at our peak gear purchasing frenzy as well. The stars aligned.

This particular sample is not raw at all. It was designed to be a supplement not a replacement. It is the KPM Black Beauty into the Undertone Audio MPEQ-1 with a dumb amount of 8K and 200Hz into a Manley Pultec then a Distressor at 4:1 medium attack / quick release. I also included a sample of the stereo lounge mics for some ambience. Both sounds are intended to be one shots and automated down or off as needed.
